Meet our people – Erin Seeto
Find out more about our staff, their roles, and what their day to day looks like!
What was your path into evaluation/ARTD?
My path to evaluation is anything but traditional. I started my career as a graphic designer, then transitioned to public health, where I was first introduced to this field. Through my previous role, I began diving into data and trying to make sense of its significance for our programs. This experience sparked a genuine passion for data and evaluation, leading me to pursue a Masters in Analytics at UNSW during the COVID lockdowns. Looking to translate my newfound knowledge into real-world practice, I joined ARTD as a Consultant.
Can you sum up your role as a Senior Consultant in one sentence?
As a Senior Consultant, I work with my colleagues to collect and analyse data, creating insights that help clients monitor their work and results, improve their processes, and make decisions.
What was the best opportunity/ your proudest work moment since starting at ARTD?
Coming from a design background, my most rewarding experiences blend my two worlds of evaluation and design. I take pride in creating data visualisations, presentations, and infographics that make complex information accessible and engaging for clients. There’s something magical about crafting visuals that not only communicate data but also inspire client interest and understanding.
What is your favourite thing about working at ARTD?
There are two aspects of my job consistently excite me:
- The collaborative environment – both with my incredible team and our diverse clients. I love the process of brainstorming and collectively making sense of data.
- The opportunity to work across multiple sectors and policy contexts. The variety means I’m always learning something new.
What does a ‘day in the life’ look like for you?
No two days are the same, but they typically start with coffee and can include a mix of; client meetings and presentations, stakeholder interviews, designing and implementing surveys, quantitative analysis using R, report writing, project management and collaborative synthesis meetings.
What’s something your clients may not know about you?
I’m pretty active outside of work. After hours you’ll often find me in a dance class, playing oztag, or enjoying the park with my dog.
