Human Services Strategy Setting and Commissioning for Outcomes with Michael Brooks
Partner Michael Brooks caught up at the end of 2020 with our Communications Officer Kate Sunners to discuss the emerging trends he’s seen in human services sector strategy setting and commissioning for outcomes, during the pandemic period.
In line with the NSW Government’s Commissioning and Contestability Policy, it is now contracted providers’ responsibility to design a service that will deliver the contracted performance targets. It’s an approach that can contribute to strong partnerships between governments and providers, whilst reducing the administrative burden on both sides. As ARTD Partner Michael Brooks reflects in this short video, the commissioning approach has allowed government and service providers to be responsive and flexible, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Michael suggests that, governments and services providers will work within this framework to explore new ways of setting and responding to shared outcomes.
