Water by Design
SEQ Healthy Waterways Partnership, 2010
ARTD was engaged to assess the degree of satisfaction of key stakeholders with the Water by Design program, a partnership program that aims to build industry capacity to deal with issues relating to water sensitive urban design in Queensland. We conducted interviews with key stakeholders and people who had used Water by Design training products, including technical guidelines training courses and other program publications.

Procurement for major asset projects
Sydney Water, 2008
ARTD developed ten case studies of procurement strategies for major asset programs. They covered alliance contracts, conventional contracts and incentives for a wide range of program types and sizes, risks, site contexts and market conditions. The studies provided a rich evidence base on the strengths and weaknesses of the different approaches.

Maintenance and renewals program
Sydney Water, Transfield Services, SKM, 2004-2005
ARTD facilitated the development of the performance measurement framework for the mechanical and electrical maintenance contract. We developed KPIs and a method for calculating an annual performance score for the 'pain/ gain' mechanism.

Performance framework for sewerage construction
Sydney Water, MWH, United KG, John Holland, Manidis Roberts, 2003-2005
ARTD facilitated the development of the non-cost performance framework for the $170 million Priority Sewerage Program Alliance, which covered the greater Sydney metropolitan area. The framework covered KPIs for schedule, technical quality, safety, environment, community, legacy and workforce. ARTD also managed the process for reviewing and updating the KPIs and validating the performance data.

Alliance and conventional contracts
Sydney Water, 2003
ARTD undertook an initial evaluation of the benefits of alliance strategies compared to conventional contracts, based on case studies of four alliance contracts and five conventional contracts.
