Online system for Domestic Violence monitoring
Community Services, 2012—in progress
The Communities and Early Years (C&EY) division develops coordinated approaches to address domestic and family violence, including Staying Home Leaving Violence and Integrated and Domestic Violence Services Program. We developed, piloted and refined an online performance monitoring system to ensure all domestic and family violence service providers are able to systematically provide data needed to report against performance measures. The system collects some data at the project level but also includes detailed unit level records for all clients.

Cross Agency Risk Assessment and Management framework for domestic and family violence (CARAM-DFV)
NSW Health Primary Health and Community Partnerships, 2011
The pilot involved four agencies (Police, Health, Courts, Community Services) and NGOs, with trials in two regions in 2010. ARTD evaluated the service processes, interagency coordination and outcomes with 670 cases, identifying challenges to a common framework.

National Legal Profession Reform Project—Consumer Consultation
Attorney-General’s Department 2010
ARTD facilitated consultation workshops with consumers who use legal services, consumer representatives and frontline legal complaints-handling staff. The consultation sought participants’ views on the impact on consumers of the new proposed legislative package and on any additional measures consumers believe should be considered by the National Legal Profession Reform Taskforce. ARTD prepared a Consumer Report for the Taskforce.

Tackling Violence
NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, 2010
Tackling Violence is a community education and prevention initiative that aims to build community capacity to address domestic violence. It uses regional rugby league teams to promote changed attitudes and behaviours to domestic violence. This project, which followed our evaluation of the pilot in 2009, was a process and outcomes evaluation of the second year of implementation, when the initiative was extended to an additional seven communities and eight more football clubs. It involved a literature review, consultation with local stakeholders and a pre- and post-survey of education workshop participants. The evaluation was used to inform decisions about future roll-out.

NSW Government action to address domestic violence
NSW Human Services CEOs Forum, 2007
ARTD conducted a major review of the state-wide coordination of responses to domestic violence across NSW human services and justice agencies, with a focus on the role of regional coordinators operating within the Department of Community Services.

Reducing Youth Offending Programme
New Zealand Department of Child, Youth and Family Services and the Department of Corrections, 2005–2006
This four-year pilot targeted high-risk youth offenders using Multisystemic Therapy (MST), often in cross-cultural settings. To inform future policy, the program was intensively evaluated using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The evaluation assessed the quality of processes, outcomes and value for money. ARTD advised the Departments on the evaluation design, methods, analysis, management and reporting, and provided quality assurance.
