We undertake a wide range of projects in health promotion, public health and health services delivery. These range from a high-level strategy development and review to performance frameworks and program evaluations.
Independent evaluation of the Otitis Media Screening Program
NSW Health, 2008
ARTD evaluated this major initiative under the NSW Aboriginal Affairs Plan to inform decisions about future directions. We analysed the screening data, and did case studies and interviews. We also reviewed the literature and recent evidence on effectiveness of screening.
Evaluation of MetroActive: Participation in Community Sport and Active Recreation
VicHealth, 2005-2007
ARTD evaluated this program, which was implemented in six councils in Melbourne, using in-depth qualitative interviews with over 60 council staff at the mid-term and end of the funding; review of council and program documents; and a survey of councils that are members of Physical Activity Network. The findings were used by VicHealth to determine future directions with the program.
Cancer Institute Evaluation framework
Cancer Institute NSW, 2005-2007
ARTD has worked with the Cancer Institute NSW to embed evaluation in the Cancer Plan 2007-2010, build evaluation into yearly Divisional Operational Plans, develop evaluation frameworks for the Institute, and provide advice on collecting evaluation data.
NSW Skin Cancer Plan 2007-2010
The Cancer Council NSW, 2006
ARTD facilitated the development of a new State-wide plan with NSW Health, The Cancer Council NSW and the Cancer Institute NSW. The project included a review of the previous plan and the links with related health plans, a review of the current evidence around skin cancer, interviews with stakeholders, and the preparation of an integrated plan in consultation with the three partner agencies. The plan has been endorsed and is now being implemented by the partner agencies.
Workshop on co-morbidity
NSW Health, 2006
ARTD prepared and facilitated a strategic planning workshop with 40 stakeholders from both the drug and alcohol sector and mental health sector to examine issues, policies and services related to co-morbidity.
Scoping health promotion in NSW Correctional and Juvenile Justice Centres
Justice Health, 2005
The study involved a literature review, extensive stakeholder consultations across health and correctional services, surveys of nurse practitioners and Centre managers and a discussion paper leading to a search conference and recommendations for increasing health promotion effort.
Mid-Term Review of Healthy People 2005
NSW Health, 2003
