Most of our work in the educational sector involves evaluations and reviews of new programs in schools targeting issues such as drug and alcohol education or special population groups. We are accustomed to working with schools and their community partners, parents, regions, state office and other agencies involved with children.

Evaluation of a school alcohol education teaching resource
NSW Department of Education and Training, 2006
This evaluation of a pilot alcohol education teaching resource for Stage 2 and Stage 3 students in NSW schools used a quasi-experimental study design. The methods included pre- and post-intervention surveys of students, surveys of school staff, focus groups with students and interviews with teachers and principals.

Ted Noffs Foundation School Alcohol and other drug counselling - Evaluation
NSW Department of Education and Training, 1999, 2001 and 2006
An evaluation of the pilot and then expanded counselling program for high schools in Sydney and the Central Coast, using interviews with school stakeholders, a client monitoring system and surveys of students and parents.

Evaluation of Early Childhood Road Safety Education Program
NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, 2004 and 2008
In 2004, ARTD conducted an evaluation of the reach and implementation of the program using a state-wide survey of 3,000 centres, ten case studies and post-survey follow-up interviews. In 2008, ARTD are again evaluating the program to inform future directions.

Evaluation of NSW Youth Partnership Pacific Communities
Department of Community Services; and Department Education and Training 2005-2007
DET had a major role in this whole-of-government initiative, addressing children and young people's engagement in education through projects in over 50 schools. ARTD designed and implemented a comprehensive evaluation.

Evaluation of the Peer Mediation Program
NSW Department of Education and Training, 2003
A NSW-wide evaluation of a support program for primary and secondary schools, and school Districts using surveys and focus groups with students, parents, teachers, principals and support staff.
